About Benbrook
Benbrook is a city of roughly 25,000 residents (24,520 at the 2020 census) in southwest Tarrant County, at the junction of Interstate 20 and US Highway 377, about ten miles southwest of downtown Fort Worth. Settled in the 1850s and named for landowner James M. Benbrook, the city grew after Benbrook Lake was created on the Clear Fork of the Trinity River in the early 1950s.
The lake defines the south side of town. Dutch Branch Park, the city’s largest park at more than 400 acres, has a marina, stables, a par-three golf course and trails along the shore. Neighborhoods include Westpark, Timbercreek, Benbrook Lakeside and Whitestone Ranch, a newer master-planned community on the city’s southwest side. Benbrook is served by Fort Worth ISD and is a short drive east of Walsh and Aledo along I-20.
